Latino leaders who paved the way in the Lehigh Valley were celebrated at a free community panel discussion and celebration organized by Lehigh Valley Public Media.

The 1782/1834 Grist Miller’s House, after being closed to the public for a couple of decades, will open again for a free community showing from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

A dilapidated single-family home across from Touchstone Theatre and Parham Park may later become a three-story mixed-use structure.

Elvis Costello, whose career bridged punk and new wave music with mainstream, will perform with his band The Imposters at 8 p.m. Sept. 8 at Wind Creek Event Center, it was announced. Joining him onstage will be guitarist Charlie Sexton, who hit the Billboard chart with his own album in 1989, then toured with Bob Dylan and recorded with Lucinda Williams and Shawn Colvin.

Costas Alestas, 44, of Palmer Township, entered the plea before Northampton County Judge Samuel P. Murray. He admitted guilt to charges of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and invasion of privacy, according to the Northampton County District Attorney's Office.

Pennsylvania saw an 18% jump — from 393 antisemitic incidents in 2023 to 465 in 2024. It was a 308% jump from the 114 incidents tracked in 2022, the ADL said in a report Tuesday.
