A physician response vehicle is now on the roads of the Lehigh Valley to help save lives on the scene of an emergency. The SUV and the team that operates it assist paramedics with critical cases outside the hospital setting.

While the city fills out its traffic staff, Public Works Director Michael Alkhal said he’d have to touch base with his team to see about any upcoming speed surveys. But the city is open to making some adjustments as needed, he said.

A home on Spring Street in West Bethlehem could be up for demolition to make room for senior living units. The Diocese of Allentown owns the property and could replace it with a four-unit, 4,100-square-foot complex.

Police said rain was reported at the time of a fatal crash on Pembroke Road in Bethlehem, and wet road conditions may have been a factor. The driver was identified as Johny M. Roustic.

For the first time, the two-day festival will feature a barbecue competition, along with 11 blues performers. It will take place Friday, July 19 and Saturday, July 20 at SteelStacks.
